Are tips included in the cruise price?
Tips for guides, drivers, and performers are included. Tips for the ship’s crew and cruise director are not included. Past guests have typically given USD 8–12 per guest per day for the crew. All tips are shared equally among them.
What happens during the low‑water period?
Based on our long‑term experience, we expect low water levels from the end of December onwards, especially near Vientiane. During this time, sections of the river become too shallow for safe navigation. When low‑water conditions occur, we switch to our Low‑Water Programme to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey
How does the Low‑Water Programme work?
During low water:
* You will travel along a scenic river section in a comfortable local longboat for one day.
* Instead of staying on the ship, guests spend one night in a boutique hotel in central Vientiane.
Do I need a special itinerary for low water?
Yes. If you’re planning to book a cruise during the low‑water period, please contact us to receive the Low‑Water Itinerary, which includes all adjustments and timing details specific to this season.
